The Dauphin Journey
Our story is one of unwavering dedication to ergonomic design, and the journey that brought us from humble beginnings in Europe to crafting exquisite spaces around the world.
1968
The Beginnings
The foundation of Dauphin was laid in 1968 when our founder, Friedrich-Wilhelm Dauphin, acquired the German operations of a British office chair manufacturer. He began importing and distributing chairs under the name “Evertaut International,” and later “Friedrich-W. Dauphin, Alleinimporteur Evertaut International.” This move marked the inception of our enduring commitment to providing innovative seating solutions.
1973
Offenhausen as Headquarters
Our company’s headquarters found its home in Offenhausen in 1973. It was here that we built our first plant, which we have expanded and evolved over the years.
1980's and 90's
Value Chain & In-house Development
In the 80s and 90s, we focused on building our value chain by setting up additional production sites. Dauphin Components was established in Pößneck, Thuringia, to manufacture seat mechanisms and components, while Artifex Büromöbel GmbH became our trusted supplier for upholstery.
1992
Foundation Dauphin Office Interiors & Acquisitions
In 1992, our family business came under the umbrella of “Dauphin Office Interiors GmbH & Co. KG” holding company. We acquired two more chair firms: Trendoffice and Züco. With three distinct brands, Dauphin Group became a prominent name in the facility seating market.
1999
Allée Bleue
In 1999, our journey led us to “Allée Bleue,” a picturesque wine farm in South Africa. The Dauphin family transformed it into an iconic estate, producing award-winning wines, olives, and serving as a setting for remarkable events.
2002
Foundation Dauphin HumanDesign® Group
In autumn 2002, the Dauphin HumanDesign® Group (DHDG) was established, unifying sales, marketing, and consultancy expertise from Bosse, Trendoffice, and Züco. This holistic approach allowed us to offer complete solutions for the entire office and facility sector.
