ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Engineering & Construction
The Riola is built on a robust 4-point star base engineered for maximum stability without compromising its elegant silhouette. The sub-frame and cross-type base are crafted from chrome die-cast aluminum, a material choice that ensures long-term structural integrity while contributing to a premium, polished appearance. The seat support is constructed from ST 52 steel, a high-grade structural material that underpins the chair's durability and load-bearing reliability.
Comfort Technology
Seating comfort is elevated through the chair's signature strapped seat surface, which works in harmony with the swinging frame to provide dynamic, responsive support throughout the day. The large sliding discs integrated into the base further enhance stability during movement, ensuring the chair remains grounded even as the rotary mechanism allows for generous freedom of motion. Glide options are available to suit different floor types, standard plastic glides for carpet, and optional felt glides for parquet, linoleum, and stone surfaces.
Aesthetic Design & Finish
The Riola's aesthetic is defined by its clean, architectural lines and the luxurious warmth of its upholstery options. The chair can be specified in premium knitted fabric or wrapped in Lavalina leather, the latter of which can also cover the seat support for a seamless, fully upholstered look. Chrome die-cast aluminum armrests complement the base finish beautifully, and are fitted with black ABS plastic armpads as standard, with a full chrome finish available as an optional upgrade for a more uniform, high-gloss presentation.
Awards & Recognition
A testament to its design excellence, the Riola has been recognised with notable industry accolades including the Focus Green Award (2008) and the Innovationspreis A&O, honours that affirm its standing as a product where innovative engineering and aesthetic ambition are held in equal regard.
